ENCLOSE project is organised into 7 Work Packages (WP):one concerning Project Management and coordination (WP1), four (core WP2-WP5) covering the key project activities aimed at good practice demonstration, evaluation, transferability and experience sharing, and two (WP6 and WP7) implementing the appropriate communications, dissemination and IEE activities.
In this structure the ENCLOSE Stakeholders Support Groups presents a great relevance both at local level, where their support allow the choice and definition of the more suitable logistics schemes and services, and at European level where EAHTR acts as multiplier for the European dimension in order to promote the concept and methodology of the SULP approach developed during the ENCLOSE lifetime.

The following diagram provides a general overview of the main project structure

  • WP1-Project Management and coordination
  •

  • WP2 - Situation, Needs and Challenges will focus on gathering the background knowledge and building up the initial conditions for project demonstration, evaluation and knowledge sharing activities. WP2 from a side will set the picture of the current logistics situation in European historic towns and from the other side will define the main goals and needs of the ENCLOSE towns and their logistics operators and will identify the main challenges, opportunities and priorities. WP2 will set the general context for the following piloting, demonstration and transferability analysis activities (WP3).
  •

  • WP3 - Piloting, Assessment, Transferability and SULP development cover the core activities of the participating sites and stakeholders. The “forerunners” towns will implement pilot measures and the “followers” towns will lead feasibility/transferability analysis. Both Forerunner and Follower towns develop its Sustainable Urban Logistics Plan (SULP) following a common methodology set up in the first months of the project. Moreover Follower towns implement soft measures, specifically targeting the energy efficiency needs and sustainability goals of small-/mid-size historic centres
  •

  • WP4- Implementation of Good Practice Analysis, Knowledge Sharing and Exchange of Experiences actions throughout the entire project life, in parallel to piloting and transferability analysis activities. The forerunner cities will organise site visits including trainings and the learner cities will host 2 local awareness riving events targeting local stakeholders.
  •

  • WP5 - Evaluation and Policy Tools will abstract local, site-level experiences, results and Sustainable Urban Logistics Plans into policy recommendations and tools usable at the European level, addressing the specific segment of small-/mid-size historic towns. The ENCLOSE energy-efficient urban logistics measures and schemes piloted in Forerunner towns together with their SULPs, as well as the SULPs of the Follower/Learner towns resulting from transferability analysis, will be cross-evaluated.
  •

  • WP6 - Communication and Promotion will cover all communication and dissemination activities needed to ensure the highest visibility of ENCLOSE until and after successful project completion.
  •

  • WP7 - Communication and Promotion covers specific contribution, upon request by the EACI, to common dissemination activities to increase synergies between, and the visibility of IEE-supported actions.
